Privacy policy

Short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address with our newsletter service, Buttondown (buttondown.com). They also record things needed to run a list, such as when you confirmed and whether you unsubscribed. You get a confirmation email first, and every email has an unsubscribe link. We only use your address to send the newsletter.

The calculator

The numbers you type into the calculator are used to show you a result. We don’t ask for your name, account numbers, or any login to a financial account.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosts, it keeps basic server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, to keep the site running and secure. We don’t use advertising trackers.

Links and commissions

Links to providers go to their sites, which have their own privacy policies. If a link is an affiliate link, the provider or its affiliate network may set cookies to credit us for a sign-up. We say so next to those links. See how we make money.

We don’t sell your data

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the services that run the site (Vercel for hosting, Buttondown for the newsletter) or if the law requires it.

Your choices

Unsubscribe any time from the link in any email. To ask for your email to be deleted, or with any privacy question, write to hsacompare@mail.grokbot.com.
